3. There is No Planet B

LAS 103D, Section 3

The There is No Planet B learning team presents opportunities to think about how recent record-setting weather events, pollution, energy demands, and impacts of humanity offer a glimpse into a future where we need to be prepared for dealing with the consequences of these large-scale phenomena. What are some of the challenges? How do cities and rural areas prepare for a massive hurricane, tornado, snowfall, drought or flood? What are the physical, emotional, and social costs of caring for our planet? We will meet with experts in many fields who are exploring our changing world, discuss their findings, and engage in team activities to investigate the myriad of career options open to those interested in addressing challenging problems and looking for a rewarding future.
